Middle School academic instruction is generally organized by grade level from Grade 6 through Grade 8: students move to subject specialists for all subject areas but with a choice from Art and Design, Performing Arts, and Robotics programs as an option. ESL and mainstream English classes are offered to differentiate students with limited English proficiency from those that have it. In High School, however, there may be some mixing of grades based on English-language ability and differentiating between Regular and Honors in Grades 9 and 10. Grade 11 and 12 classes tend to be more specialized and elective, and therefore more mixed between grade levels.
In the AI world of today, PAS puts a lot of emphasis on technology and its applications. Since 2014, PAS has been a Google school. With the transformation from a traditional school educating and learning for contents and testing, PAS has evolved into a school emphasizing the importance of skills (critical thinking, research, communication, presentation, collaboration, and problem solving) through project-based learning while technology plays a big role in PAS education and learning. A variety of tech classes, in both programming and applications, from ES to HS are open for students to learn. In Middle School, students are required to take technology/Design Thinking classes while being opted for VEX as a choice of their interests.
PAS believes the importance of the education and student learning to be applied and practiced in the real world; PAS is also a student-centered education institution, emphasizing hands-on projects and learning through trial and error. Students are given different opportunities to serve their communities, to take on leadership roles, and to be problem solvers.
