The 2009 PAS Science Fair
February 27th, 2009

The second annual PAS 2009 was held on February 20th. It marked the culmination of a lot of time and effort put forth by the 3rd-12th grade science students at PAS. We were fortunate and grateful to have several professors from National Tsing Hua University come to our school to judge the student’s projects. Some of the favorite projects included “How to Make a Paper Airplane Fly Farther”, from the 3rd grade, “Hamster’s Black and White World”, from the 8th Grade, and “Are There Differences Between Males and Females” from the 12th Grade. In addition to these popular projects there were several other interesting and well researched projects.

The science fair has become an annual event at PAS and it’s exciting to see the student’s scientific abilities grow as they gain experience from year to year. Overall, the projects presented this year were more advanced than those presented last year, and I’m sure they will get better and better each year. Community interest is also growing as evident by the willingness of the professors from National Tsing Hua to come to PAS to play a part in our science fair experience.
