Principal’s Message
Dear Parents and Students:
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Pacific American School. The curriculum at our school is based on American standards and offers the curriculum found in the best high schools in the USA. While at PAS, students will be also exposed to the latest in educational theory and technology as we help prepare them for competition in the global community of the 21st Century. Students will have the opportunity to transfer to an institution of higher learning in the United States to further their education after graduation from PAS.
Preparing students for success academically and socially is our number one priority. Therefore, we offer a rigorous academic program of study, including many Advanced Placement classes which offer the possibility of earning college credit while in high school. Because college recruiters are looking for more than just high academic scores, we offer comprehensive extra-curricular experiences. A well-rounded student will have strong grades, various skills, and interests other than just academic. Being involved in activities in addition to classes indicates a mature student who has team and/or leadership experience, time management capabilities, and organizational skills.
PAS offers a three sport season for our students and student club opportunities. We promote co-curricular activities such as the Model United Nations, the World Scholar’s Cup competition, attendance at the CTY summer program for talented youth, elementary school ecology camp, and a week long leadership camp. All of our non-classroom activities are designed to broaden our student’s experiences, and their perspectives.
Our goal for the coming years is to build one of the top international schools in Asia, a school that everyone in Taiwan and the city of Hsinchu can be proud of, a school for the 21st Century.
