Curriculum
PAS provides American curriculum from kindergarten to the 12th grade. Today, about 20% of PAS students are eligible to attend the renowned programs and summer camp of Center of Talented Youth (CTY) from Johns Hopkins University. Besides regular courses, we also organize domestic and overseas summer camp and travel.
To graduate at an advanced level, from Grade 6, students begin an Advanced Placement Preparatory track which will allow them to take AP courses and tests as early as 10th grade and participate in the advanced courses from CTY and Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY) from Stanford University. Today, more than 20% of our students are participating in these programs.
Limited English students are provided a sheltered program based on PK-12 Teachers of English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) standards. The sheltered program allows students to study Content Subjects such as Literature, Science, and History while simultaneously improving their language skills. It is based on the research proven that students progress faster when studying content area subjects in a sheltered environment compared with traditional ESL programs focusing only on language.
